ILMINSTER SWIMMING CLUB
Training
Training is provided by our outstanding coach, Kim; a former international swimmer and current Level 3 coach with many years of experience behind her.
The coaching is individually tailored depending on a swimmer's ability, and what they wish to get out of their swimming - be it general fitness, recovery from injury, or training for a Iron Man event! The pool is split into lanes accordingly, with input from Kim being split between lanes as appropriate, or aimed at all the swimmers as one group.
All four main strokes are taught and included in training - though swimmers can favour one style if they wish.
While we do not currently compete as a club, we would be happy to review this if there was particular interest.
What kit will I need?
ISC makes use of a variety of training equipment to support improvements in swimming technique and/or strength - the pile in the picture showing some examples! Club members can chose to invest in some items themselves, but the club aims to loan the basics to new members - or to 'try before you buy' for the more specialised items.
In simple terms though, all you need to join in is yourself, a suitable swimming costume, a pair of goggles and a positive frame of mind!
